RSH Data & Documents "The Health Effects of Low-Level Radiation" |
Radium-burden PopulationLog-normal distribution of tumors versus dose projects a minimum threshold of about 400 cGy.Dr. Robert Thomas reports on the 65 tumors in 1,545 cases in the homogeneous group of young women luminizers/dial-painters. These 65 tumors are shown to be log-normally distributed in the 154 cases with doses greater than 1,000 cGy. This highly conservative evaluation does not consider the evidence of the 1,391 cases below 1,000 cGy dose that have no adverse health effects (and even beneficial effects). This again invalidates the "linear model" for radium doses. |
